Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, known mostly for his serious roles in movies such as Titanic and The Departed, will be lending his voice to the character of Jack Frost in DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming tale “The Guardians.”
An adaptation of an upcoming book series by William Joyce, the film uses familiar fairytale characters as heroes that must stop an evil force from plunging the world into darkness.
The press release includes five more parts to fill, which include North (Santa), Bunnymund (the Easter Bunny), Tooth (the Tooth Fairy), and Sandy (the Sandman). The fivesome will battle Pitch (the Boogeyman) for control of the world.

DiCaprio’s is the first voice announced as being attached to the project. We will keep a close eye on other casting decisions leading up to the film’s reported November 2, 2012 release. In the meantime, Joyce’s book series is tentatively scheduled to hit shelves December of next year.
